At Home Guide
Use this resource with your children, family, or friends, to discuss a passage of scripture. You can use the main scripture from Worship, from a kid's storybook Bible, or from a Bible reading plan or devotional. Each person may have different "pictures, mirrors, and windows".
Provide opportunities for everyone to lead parts of your time together.
Pray
God Sightings - How did you see God at work this week?
(For example, a child generously giving to another, God keeping you safe from a car accident, an answered prayer, etc.
They can be big or small. God is present in the ordinary and extraordinary)
Read a Bible passage, Bible story, or reflect on the sermon or kids message.
Discuss - each person shares their "Picture, Mirror, and Window" from what they read or heard.
Picture = What is the picture of God, in this passage
What does it say about God? About Jesus?
Mirror = How is this passages a mirror into my heart and life
What is this passage telling me about myself? About people?
Window = What does this passage tell me about the world and people
How should I respond to the world and people around me?
Pray - for each other
(You can include the God-sightings and "Pictures, Mirrors, and Windows" that were shared.)
Use this as a simple and fun way to talk and learn together!
